Capax World works to alleviate poverty worldwide through direct program delivery and strategic partnerships. In addition to our headquarters in the U.S., we have an office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to coordinate programs in that country.
With a population of nearly one half billion people, Southeast Asia is often romanticized in popular culture. Behind these smiling faces lie a wealth of skills, creativity and drive that make for successful entrepreneurs. However, a history dotted with internecine war, poor governance, and struggles for equality has left almost 1/3 of the population living in poverty.
Capax World is working directly to build capacity in Cambodia through interwoven programs of education, life skills training, clean energy, agricultural optimization, and access to the tools people need to succeed. We help these capable, hard-working people to use their skills and drive to improve the lives of their families and communities.
The experience of Capax World’s directors in developing countries has impressed upon them the need for projects that help the working poor to accomplish their goals while preserving their dignity and avoiding dependence on outside aid that can cripple the drive for self-sufficiency, as well as encouraging cooperation in local communities.
Capax World’s programs are structured in collaboration with local residents to meet needs that they identify, with the goal of enabling and encouraging business development and job creation. Capax World’s programs are designed to be both sustainable and scalable, so they not only can sustain themselves, but also foster additional economic growth in poor communities.
